En plein air
The lyrical representation of Marie Danielle’s world comes from the “en plein air” contemplation of nature, colored by her memories and filtered through her most intimate feelings. She loves to cuddle her spectator with romantic figurative landscapes and open the door to her metaphysical memories of almost forgotten fairy stories.
Marie Danielle’s pictorial gesture, precious fruit of a technique she refined over the years, patiently shapes her creations by thin layers of primary colors and small signs of pigments left to spontaneously glide on the canvas to create anchor points for the viewer’s eye to rest after riding her next endless grasslands or diving into her ocean’s deep waters.
Her spontaneity and anti-academicism place Marie Danielle on a hard-to- define historical-cultural plane. At times, she seems to exhume pre-Impressionist Pointillist painters’ technique; in other cases large fields of color openly declare her affiliation to the Abstractionism that made of Mark Rothko an icon of Contemporary Art.
Undoubtedly, Marie Danielle’s predominant talent lies in the ability to convey her feelings through a range of colors where the light triumphs, donating a deep, unprecedented sense of awareness. The feeling that emerges from living the paintings of Marie Danielle Leblanc reveals her strong desire to go beyond the simple pictorial representation by rewarding the spectator with the key to her most intimate universe.
